The course is the continuity from a series of Hull Structure Courses that we have organized in Hong Kong during year 2006.
The half-day course is conducted by Mr Øyvind Wilhelmsen from DNV MTPNO864 in Oslo and Mr Patrick Fong, Customer Service Manager in Hong Kong.
It covers summary of the Hull Structure course material with focus on Bulk Carriers and is further illustrated with damage cases and class-room discussions. The course ends with an introduction of the DNV Hull Integrity Management concept.
As informed by one of the superintendents that even though he may not fully use the knowledge learnt from the Hull Structure course in his daily work, he always uses the material he has received from the course for reference when needed.
“It is good timing to re-visit the hull structure knowledge that I learnt last year and the refresher course further strengthens it. We would like the course to be carried out at regular intervals,” said a technical manager after attended the Refresher course.
